Game Courts and Bowls
Games, Water, and History
At 38 Bartlett Street, this Brooklyn neighborhood park lets court players, families, and solo exercisers share one active setting. Handball and basketball courts anchor the grounds, with outdoor fitness equipment and playgrounds adding movement. Spray showers offer a water-play option, and public restrooms are on site. NYC Parks renamed the park in 1985 for Josiah Bartlett, a Declaration signer and New Hampshire’s first governor. Entry is free from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

School Neighbors, Daily Access
At 2130 Washington Avenue, this public Bronx park offers accessible play equipment and interactive activity boards designed for pre-K children. The setting also serves students from neighboring P.S. 23, The New Children’s School. Entry is free, and hours run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day. The playground takes its name from the Bathgate family, also remembered by nearby Bathgate Avenue. Children can move between equipment and activity boards during a daytime visit.

Blended Break by the DMV
Baya Bar operates at 626 Sheepshead Bay Road, near the local motor vehicles office. Custom açaí bowls feature fresh fruit, alongside smoothies, chocolate protein shakes, and loaded avocado toast. Weekday hours run from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. On weekends, service starts at 9:00 AM and continues until 8:00 PM. Helpful, knowledgeable staff keep ordering straightforward, whether the plan is a bowl before an appointment or a protein shake after work.
