Council Crest Park
4.7 (2,202)park
Set atop one of Portland’s highest perches, this park pairs open summit lawns with sweeping views of the Cascade peaks.
Description

Between 1907 and 1929, this 43-acre ridge in Southwest Portland was the site of Council Crest Amusement Park. Today, the grounds trade rides for quiet space at 1,073 feet above sea level. On clear days, the horizon reveals views of Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson, and Mount Rainier. A network of paved and unpaved loop paths and a dedicated dog off-leash area branch out around the grounds, drawing visitors throughout the day, especially around sunrise and sunset.
