Description

Located in Hermitage, the preserve protects an ecosystem shaped by shallow soil over limestone bedrock, where specialized plant life manages harsh, open ground. The loop cuts through cedar woods and over exposed tree roots, picking across a small stream over two wooden bridge crossings and bordering stretches with no defined trails. Park rangers lead guided wildflower hikes that unpack the glade's unique botany, while everyday footpaths remain rugged and turn muddy after rain.
