Acquired in 1989 with assistance from the Trust for Public Land, the grounds occupy acreage where previous owners once grazed cattle and grew pecan trees. Maintained by the City of Wilmer, the site is equipped with parking and charcoal grills, while future plans call for the installation of a disc golf course and a restroom.
