Description

This 2.4-acre public square balances green nooks with wide stone expanses, setting movable tables and chairs around raised garden beds and a central fountain. It offers front-row views of Back Bay architecture, putting Trinity Church right next to the John Hancock Tower alongside the Boston Public Library. While the open concrete stretches offer little shade on hot afternoons, the paths leave plenty of room to people-watch, linger, or skate. Throughout the seasons, city-run ParkARTS programming and the annual tree lighting regularly draw civic crowds back to the plaza.
