Cooper-Frost-Austin House
4.4 (16)museum
Cambridge’s oldest surviving home grew from a 1681 single-room dwelling into a layered record of early American life.
Description

Originally erected as a two-story First Period house, the structure expanded across generations under the Cooper, Frost, and Austin families to accommodate their growing households. Subsequent additions introduced Federal and other period styles into the original frame. Preserved by Historic New England, the home captures the everyday domestic patterns of what was once a rural farming community.
