Step inside a restored 1770s Georgian courthouse to experience interactive mock trials led by costumed reenactors.
Description

Standing on Market Square within the Historic Area, the original 1771 Georgian brick building once housed the James City County Court and the Hustings Court. Today, the restored interior features a courtroom and clerk space alongside interactive mock trials where costumed interpreters lead visitors through real cases from colonial history. Just outside, a replica stocks and pillory area recalls the public nature of 18th-century punishment.
