Chez Zou takes the cocktail hour upstairs in Manhattan West, three floors above its sister restaurant. At 385 9th Avenue, the fourth floor lounge trades street level for a dimly lit room with a distinctive palette. The drinks riff on the classics, with a creative, curated approach that keeps familiar cocktail ideas in play.
The atmosphere is elegant and warm, with booths that fit four to five people and a setting suited to dates and small groups. There is also an expansive string lit outdoor patio for a round in the open air. Allow 30 to 40 US dollars per person.
Doors open at 5 PM daily, with service until midnight on Sunday and Monday and until 1 AM Tuesday through Saturday. Choose the day around how late you want the evening to run, then decide between the indoor lounge and the terrace.
