Description
Designed by Van Brunt & Howe and finished in 1891, the architecture remains a focal point of the Quality Hill district. While the original structure famously hosted cultural and political figures, a 1978 fire left only the northern section standing. This remainder was later repurposed for private residential use, preserving the facade that earned the building its spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Outside of its architectural timeline, the site is frequently cited in local ghost lore, most notably for the legend of the Ghost Bride.
