🧗 Ropes in a Power Plant

The Stronghold Climbing Gym puts a climbing session inside a historic brick power plant beside the L.A. River. Roped routes spread through a cavernous industrial setting with an easygoing atmosphere. Toprope and lead climbing share the setup with roughly six autobelays, giving you several ways to spend time on the walls.

First time visitors get hands on guidance from staff, covering the climbing gear you use, the safety protocols to follow, and route strategy for working through the climbs. The floor is clean and unhurried, and climbers can largely do their own thing once they are settled in.

Fitness and yoga classes sit alongside the climbing schedule. Plan around hours of 6 AM to 11 PM Monday through Friday and 8 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The gym is at 650 South Avenue 21 in Los Angeles.
