Clatsop Butte Natural Area
4.2 (76)park
Gentle wood-chip paths trace this quiet butte, pairing easy open-field walks with sweeping views toward Mount Hood.
Description

Preserved as municipal green space and wildlife habitat, the butte pairs open meadow walking with expansive regional lookouts. While Mount Hood anchors one vantage, sightlines also take in downtown Portland, Mt. Adams, and Mount St. Helens, as well as evening sunsets.
Slightly sloped paths weave through grassy fields and blackberry patches, alongside a little forest trail in the northeast corner. The grounds offer an unhurried perch for birdwatching across the seasons, sparsely outfitted with just two benches positioned with views of the park.
