Classic Neapolitan Plates from a 1930 Brooklyn Dining Room

Traditional cooking and housemade sangria give this Avenue O restaurant a distinctly old school Brooklyn pull.

Keep La Palina in mind.

🍝 Neapolitan at the Table

La Palina traces its Brooklyn run back to 1930, and the Avenue O restaurant still operates as both an eatery and a bar. Neapolitan classics anchor the menu, served in a traditional setting with a firmly old school Brooklyn character. Nearly a century on, the pitch stays simple, with familiar Italian cooking and no reinvention required.

The house signature on the drinks side is a housemade sangria, and it sits naturally beside a table of Neapolitan plates. Start there, then build the rest of the order around the Neapolitan classics the kitchen has leaned on from day one.

Timing takes a little planning. Doors open Wednesday through Saturday from 2 PM to 9 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 9 PM, with Monday and Tuesday closed each week. An early start on a Sunday gives the longest window of the week.

Head to 159 Avenue O for an unhurried dinner, a glass of sangria, and a plate of Neapolitan cooking with deep Brooklyn roots. It is old school Brooklyn dining at its most direct.
