D.C.’s last Federal-era tavern, this 1796 Georgetown landmark pairs original hearths and pine with restored ballrooms.
Description

Rescued from demolition in 1959 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 13,000-square-foot landmark served as home to the exclusive City Tavern Club until August 2024. Now operating under new ownership, the reimagined interior hosts private gatherings for up to 900 guests across rooms that preserve original tavern brick alongside striking appointments—including an outdoor patio and a ballroom lined with Gracie wallpaper hand-picked by Jackie Kennedy.
