Choose Your Difficulty: Seven Hour-Long Rooms Inside American Dream

Seven 60-minute rooms under one roof at American Dream, from a 6 out of 10 playground build to the hardest room in the store.

Pick your room inside American Dream.

The Escape Game keeps seven rooms at American Dream, and the booking page sells them as seven separate tickets. You choose the room, and the theme comes with it. Six of the seven hold eight players; Playground holds twelve.

Every room runs on a sixty-minute clock. The listing asks you to allow fifteen minutes beforehand for the briefing and fifteen afterward for the debrief and photos, so the hour turns into something closer to an hour and a half once you are through the door.

Hints are unlimited and carry no penalty. Ask for as many as you want.

Admission covers one adventure, and each of the seven rooms books as its own option with its own start times. Pick the room before you pick the hour. The difficulty rating and the player cap both belong to the room, so the time slot decides only when you show up.

Seven Rooms, Rated Six to Nine Out of Ten

The operator publishes a difficulty number for every room, out of ten. Playground sits at six, takes up to twelve players, and carries the store's large-group tag. Prison Break sits at nine, and the operator calls it its most challenging game.

Between those two are Gold Rush, Cosmic Crisis and The Depths at seven, then The Heist and Special Ops: Mysterious Market at eight. Gold Rush is the room tagged for first-timers. Cosmic Crisis is the one the general manager names first when asked for a favorite.

The sets are described room by room. Prison Break is loosely based on Alcatraz Prison. The Depths runs real submarine sound effects. Playground is built around a real playset with hand-painted murals.

A Mall Storefront, and What Sits Behind It

From the concourse this reads as one more black storefront with glass doors and a wordmark above them. The store's own line is that every game spans multiple rooms, so the door you walk through first is not the last one.

The Heist opens in a gilded gallery of framed paintings and marble busts, before it asks you to take anything out of it. Cosmic Crisis is a ship interior the store credits with more than sixty lighting sequences and more than seventy-five audio tracks. Gold Rush starts on a timber cabin porch under painted pines.

Great Big Game Show, the same operator's other format, sits next door. It is a separate ticket.

Strangers Can Book Into Your Game

This is the line worth reading twice before you check out. The operator's own wording is that the games "have the potential to be shared experiences, which means others could book into your game and join your team." Buying every open spot in a room is what makes it private.

The listing also tells you how to read the booking screen. If the spots on offer do not add up to the room's capacity, another group already holds the rest. Six of the seven rooms cap at eight, so a private run at The Heist or Prison Break means eight tickets. Playground means twelve.

Guests use it both ways. A review posted on the store's own page in September 2026 opens with "We rented out The Playground this past Saturday for my daughter's 9th birthday." Another from the same week describes teaming up with the strangers already in the room and enjoying that.

Finding It Inside American Dream

The address is 1 American Dream Way, Suite G313, in East Rutherford, directly across from MetLife Stadium. The complex is big enough that the suite number matters more than the street number.

The store's own page tells you to park in Lot A on the third floor. The booking listing adds the cost: the first thirty minutes are free, after that a flat USD 5 per vehicle covers the rest of your visit, and the store does not validate parking.

Store hours run 8:00 AM to midnight, seven days a week. The line for group and party bookings is answered 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.

The pin on this page marks the store itself, at Suite G313 inside American Dream.

Cancel at least twenty-four hours before your start time for a full refund. Games are recommended for ages thirteen and up. Younger players are allowed, an adult of eighteen or older has to play alongside anyone fourteen or under, and any player under eighteen needs an adult to sign the waiver. The store is wheelchair accessible, service animals are allowed, and every room door has an exit button you can press at any time.

Book the room first, then the hour. Take the fifteen minutes of briefing seriously, and remember that asking for a hint costs nothing.
