Chinatown Viewing Garden
4.7 (3)park
A lush Greenway pocket pairing native New England shade plants with clumping bamboo and intricate moon gates.
Description

At the southernmost reach of the Greenway in Chinatown Park, a redesign transformed a troubled bus stop bed into a protected, layered garden. Traditional Chinese design elements shape the space around custom-carved granite structures, framed by a dense mix of shade-tolerant species. Painted and Ostrich Ferns, Barrenwort, Canadian Ginger, and Solomon's Seal settle beneath Rosebay Rhododendrons, Red Bells, Scarlet Carpet Rose, and Summersweet.
