Description

Established in 1970 after a fierce community takeover halted planned state structures, the grounds beneath the San Diego-Coronado Bridge hold one of the largest collections of outdoor mural art in the States. Alongside the massive painted pillars, the space unfolds with sculptures and community gardens that remain rooted in the surrounding neighborhood. Designated a National Historic Landmark, it functions as an active cultural center dedicated to Chicano history, art, and political activism.
