A historic 1922 course renowned for dramatic championship golf, from early U.S. Opens to iconic Arnold Palmer lore.
Description

Laid out across 272 acres south of Denver by architect William Flynn, Cherry Hills made history in 1938 as the first site west of the Mississippi River to host the U.S. Open. The grounds have since staged 14 national championships, including the 2023 U.S. Amateur. Its most celebrated chapter unfolded during the final round of the 1960 U.S. Open, when Arnold Palmer drove the first green and carded a 65 on his way to victory. Beside Augusta National, it is the only U.S. venue where both Palmer and Jack Nicklaus claimed major titles.
