Description

Acquired by Los Angeles County in 1944 as surrounding neighborhoods developed and annexed to Long Beach in 1948, the grounds have steadily adapted over the decades. After 2000, one baseball diamond was replaced with a soccer field to join the tennis and basketball courts. In addition to athletic spaces, the property houses Long Beach Water Department water wells, with county park bond funding in the 1990s introducing field lights and playground equipment.
