Description

While wider Nara Park draws blossom seekers, this area sees fewer tourists, making it easy to take a slow stroll and photograph the local deer. It is home to the Nara Kokonoezakura, a tree resembling the Nara Yaezakura with the distinct trait that its leaves sprout at the same time its flowers bloom. Passing into the gated section to the south opens onto an exceptionally quiet stretch of the grounds.
