Chase the New York of Friends on Its 32nd Anniversary
September 22 marks 32 years since Friends premiered in 1994, and three real New York stops still carry the show.
🗺️ Three stops across Manhattan
🏠 The corner apartment building
The red corner storefront at 90 Bedford Street sits under the apartment where Monica and Rachel supposedly lived, the exterior the camera returned to for ten seasons. Today the ground floor is The Little Owl, a 28 seat Greenwich Village room known for gravy meatball sliders and a garlic heavy Mediterranean menu. Stand at Bedford and Grove for the shot every fan recognizes, then book a table for the food the show never served. Weekend brunch reservations move fast.

🛋️ Inside the recreated sets
A few blocks north, The FRIENDS Experience rebuilds the parts of the show that lived on a Burbank soundstage. Two floors hold the orange couch, a Central Perk recreation, Monica's purple apartment door, and cases of original costumes and props down to the Holiday Armadillo. The recreated sets are the closest most visitors will get to walking straight onto the show. Timed tickets keep the rooms from crowding, and the doors stay dark on Tuesday.

🦕 Ross's dinosaur halls
Ross Geller worked as a paleontologist, and the American Museum of Natural History is the New York temple of that world. The fourth floor fossil halls hold a mounted T. rex and towering mammoths, while the 94 foot blue whale hangs in the Hall of Ocean Life. The dinosaurs alone justify the trip, and the rest of the halls fill a full afternoon. The Upper West Side entrance faces Central Park West at 79th Street.
