Capitol Hill Ceramics With 28 Wheels For Independent Makers

Shape clay in an artist-run workspace with separate areas for red and white clays.

Make time for clay.

🏺 Space To Shape Clay

Let a slow weekend morning run its course, then turn toward clay at Rain Ceramic. The studio opens daily from noon to 8 PM. Set inside a secured building on 10th Avenue in Capitol Hill, the space gives independent ceramic artists 5,000 square feet for their practice.

There are dedicated stations for throwing and hand building, plus two slab rollers and a glaze studio. Red and white clays have separate areas, and the firing setup includes four electric kilns for bisque and cone 6 work. That combination puts several stages of making under one roof, from shaping a piece to preparing it for firing.

Monthly memberships pair reserved shelf space with unlimited open studio access and free workshops exclusively for members. Access is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. Membership starts at 195 dollars per month, with pricing tied to shelf size, and guest passes cost 65 dollars per guest.
