Description

Designated a National Historic Landmark, the grounds sit bordered by Massachusetts Avenue, Garden Street, and Waterhouse Street. While the open lawns, playing field, and benches under the trees offer a quiet neighborhood pause, the space also doubles as an active thoroughfare where over 10,000 pedestrians and cyclists cut across the paths daily. Set among the walkways are historic monuments alongside the Alexander W. Kemp Playground, which was rebuilt in 2009.
