Bushwick Green Space Brings Courts, Lawns, and Sunday Art Together
Skateboarding, soccer, and play meet creative sessions in a neighborhood gathering spot built for families and pets.
🛹 Skatepark, Soccer, and Play
Maria Hernandez Park packs a skatepark, a community soccer venue, and a playground into one Bushwick green space, with shady benches for anyone sitting the action out. Bring a board, a ball, or a kid with energy to burn, and split up once you arrive.
The park is named for an anti drug crusader, and it works as the neighborhood's shared backyard. Sundays are especially lively, drawing crowds of families while several neighborhood activities run at once, from soccer games on the field to Sunday art sessions that add a creative beat to the sports setup.
Dogs are part of the scene too, and the whole space is super pet friendly, a plus for a long Bushwick walk with a leash in hand. The park stays open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, which leaves room for an early skate session before work or an evening lap around the playground once the sun drops.
