🏛️ Objects That Shaped Society
At the Wolfsonian, everyday objects become a way into the ideas that shaped modern society. This design museum occupies a 1927 building at 1001 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, bringing industrial art into the story alongside past technology. Take a closer look at familiar things, then follow the thinking behind them through twentieth century material culture.
The institution holds more than 200,000 items, placing it among the largest university art collections in the country. Historical objects and provocative ideas connect across the galleries, with Geneva stained glass adding another thread to explore. Films, lectures, and arts events extend the calendar beyond the collection itself.
General adult admission is 12 dollars, with free entry for Florida residents. The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, opens Wednesday and Thursday and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and opens Friday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
