🕯️ One Afternoon of Dark Art & Oddities

🕯️ Twenty Independent Makers in Building 6

Inside Barrow's Intense NY Tasting Room (68 34th St, Bldg 6), twenty regional makers assemble from 12:00 to 6:00 PM with horror prints, original apparel, handmade jewelry, and collectible trinkets. If you RSVP on Partiful, arrive near opening time for your best chance at one of the first 50 free Haunting zines, which come with a peek-a-boo bingo card and a spooky photo card. Guests in costume can also join the afternoon contest and enter the prize raffle.

🎨 Open Artists' Studios in Buildings 2 & 5

Across the courtyard, Sunset Park Open Studios offers free walkthroughs of working creative spaces from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Visitors can step directly into the working environments of interdisciplinary artists, including photographer Jeanette May (#B331 in Bldg 5), photographer Carol Dronsfield (#B311 in Bldg 5), and painter Katelyn Alain (#B440 in Bldg 5). Hands-on community spaces like Craftsman Ave (#B124 in Bldg 6) and Tanya Weddemire Gallery also open their doors to share current projects.

🚇 Timing, Separate Addresses, and Route

Note the separate locations across the campus: the horror market runs at 68 34th Street from 12:00 PM, while the official Open Studios welcome hubs—located at 220 36th Street (Building 2) and 51 35th Street (Building 5)—begin receiving visitors at 1:00 PM. Arrive around noon to browse the market stalls first, then pick up a printed campus map at the Building 2 or 5 reception desks—or check the official guide map at sunsetparkopenstudios.org—to locate specific studio room numbers before touring until 5:00 PM. Take the D, N, or R train to 36th St for a two-block walk.
