🍯 Salmon, Sides And Something Sweet

Black Nile puts soul food and seafood on the table at 1140 Utica Ave in Brooklyn. Honey jerk salmon is one of the mains at this relaxed outpost, where a narrow space is lined with brick and wood. The kitchen prepares classic sides, with crispy wings, flavorful collard greens, coconut candied yams, and mac and cheese among the choices.

For a sweet finish, try the moist blueberry cornbread or have the banana nut version heated up. A very sweet fruit punch completes that side of the menu. Fried catfish also travels well, keeping its crisp texture even after it has been packed up, taken home, and reheated.

The kitchen is open from 4 PM to 10 PM on Tuesday through Thursday and on Sunday, and from 4 PM to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday, with the doors closed on Monday.
