Brooklyn Roast Beef Sandwiches Dipped in Savory Broth

Tavern fare and pork sandwiches back up the famous beef at a Nostrand Avenue staple dating to the 1930s.

🥪 The Dipped Beef Tradition

Brennan and Carr has been a Brooklyn neighborhood staple dating to the 1930s, and one sandwich carries most of that reputation. The hot roast beef comes dipped in savory broth, the order that made the place famous and the first thing to ask for when you sit down.

Past the beef, the menu keeps to classic American comfort food. Pork sandwiches share the lineup with other traditional tavern fare, all served in a casual dining room with a long neighborhood history behind it.

Doors open at 11 AM every day at 3432 Nostrand Avenue. Sunday through Thursday service ends at 11 PM, while the restaurant stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, which turns a weekend night out into an easy dipped beef detour. Those hours cover an early lunch, a sandwich after work, or a late plate once the week winds down.
