Brooklyn Courts, Calisthenics, and a Synthetic Turf Field

Shoot hoops, then work pull-up bars set at two heights in the park locals call Tillary Park.

Take your workout outside.

🏀 Courts and Pull-Up Bars

Locals call it Tillary Park, and McLaughlin Park fits basketball courts, a synthetic turf field, and a calisthenics playground into one Brooklyn green space at 243 Jay Street. Bring a ball for the courts, then cross to the turf for drills or a casual kickabout.

The fitness corner is where the real work happens. Straight, uncoated pull-up bars stand at two heights, with push-up equipment and benches for core exercises close by. The bars can turn slippery, and a quick grip check before the first set pays off. After the last rep, the park also has a public shower.

The park stays open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily, leaving room for a sunrise circuit before work or a pickup game after dinner. Start on the courts, finish on the bars, and you get a full outdoor session without leaving Jay Street. Pack water and a towel, and the whole routine fits neatly into a weekday morning or a slow Saturday in Brooklyn.
