Brooklyn Art From Farmstead to Brick Warehouse
Explore exhibitions alongside Revolutionary War history, then turn to work connecting science and technology. Check exhibition schedules before a solo visit, and look beyond the displays for workshops and performances at both venues.
Two Brooklyn Cultural Stops
Art Against a Revolutionary Backdrop
Old Stone House of Brooklyn hosts art exhibitions in a reconstructed Dutch farmstead in J.J. Byrne Playground. The building marks the site of the 1776 Battle of Brooklyn. Today, it serves as a community cultural hub, placing exhibitions alongside the site's historical significance. Public opening hours run Friday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For a solo visit, check the exhibition schedule before choosing a day.

Art Across Several Levels
Rotating exhibitions at Pioneer Works connect art, science, and technology inside a lofted brick warehouse. The multi-level layout includes an upstairs lounge with a view. Entry is free. Opening hours run Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Artist talks, workshops, and live music also feature in the program. An outside seating area offers another place to pause between exhibitions when visiting alone.

Two Ways Culture Takes Root
At Old Stone House of Brooklyn, art exhibitions sit within a reconstructed Dutch farmstead whose significance reaches back to the 1776 Battle of Brooklyn. At Pioneer Works, rotating exhibitions connect art, science, and technology within a lofted brick warehouse. The pairing brings different relationships between setting and program into view, a community cultural hub shaped by local history, followed by a space for work across disciplines. Both also host workshops and performances, extending their roles beyond exhibition rooms.
