Bronx Public Garden With Hudson River Views Across 28 Acres
Walk a Bronx public garden with wooded trails, a rare plant greenhouse and views across the Hudson to the Palisades.
🌸 Gardens Above the Hudson
Wave Hill is a Bronx public garden spread across a 28-acre estate, with viewpoints reaching across the Hudson River to the Palisades. Start among the highly maintained formal gardens, then follow the wooded trails for a quieter stretch, with trees offering shade along the way.
Displays of native and rare flowers reward a slower look, and a greenhouse dedicated to rare plants adds another stop to the outing. An on-site restaurant keeps a food break within the estate, which makes it easy to spend most of a day on the grounds.
The gardens open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to half past five PM and close on Mondays. Grounds admission fees apply, though Thursday admission is free, a strong reason to plan a weekday walk. Head to 4900 Independence Avenue, where paid parking and free street parking are both options.
