Broadway Patrons Meet Over Classic Tavern Comfort

Time a pre theater dinner or a post show cocktail on West 46 Street, with doors open until half past eleven most nights.

Meet at Joe Allen after curtain.

🍸 Cocktails for the Theater Crowd

Joe Allen is the classic tavern where Broadway actors and theatergoers end up at the same tables, sharing cocktails and plates of American comfort food. On West 46 Street, it works on both sides of the curtain, a pre theater dinner before the overture or a post show drink once the house lights come up.

The room is snug, and the menu sticks to hearty American cooking, which keeps the pace easy for a table watching the clock before showtime. After the curtain falls, the bar turns into a gathering point for comparing notes on what you just saw, with performers and patrons in the same room.

Doors stay shut on Monday. The rest of the week starts at half past four PM on Tuesday, half past eleven AM on Wednesday and Saturday, and noon on Thursday and Friday, and every one of those days stays open until half past eleven PM. Sunday runs from half past eleven AM to half past ten PM, early enough for a matinee lunch.
