Bring a Cooler, Leave the Whiskey, Pick Your Indianapolis Breweries

A chartered party bus with a driver, booked by the hour across Indianapolis. The route is yours to write.

Pick your Indianapolis breweries for a private charter.

The bus holds fourteen and comes with a driver. It does not come with an itinerary.

Top Shelf rents the whole vehicle by the hour, and the four-hour minimum is the only shape the day has before somebody gives it one. Pickup can be any address in the Indianapolis area, and the operator says it does not bill the time spent driving out to reach you. Which breweries are worth stopping at is left to the group.

One booking takes the whole vehicle, up to fourteen travelers. The price covers the driver, the fuel, and the bus. Anything poured at the stops is settled at the stops.

Where the Bus Picks You Up

The listing names Monument Circle as the start point, and the circle holds a group of fourteen without anyone standing in the road. The operator will take a different address instead, as long as it sits inside the area it normally covers. Drop-off returns to wherever the trip began.

Outside that area the operator says a trip may cost a little more, for the extra distance and time. Inside it, the quoted price carries no separate line for fuel, mileage, or supplies.

Confirmation is manual. The booking is not live the moment you pay, and the ticket lands on your phone.

Which Breweries Sit Close Enough Together

A private charter has no fixed stops. The clustering problem lands on whoever plans the night.

These are not stops on this private booking. Top Shelf's public brewery runs group nearby venues into city pockets, which you can use as a planning signal:

  • Fountain Square: Chilly Water, Fountain Square Brewery, Upland FSQ
  • Speedway: Big Woods, Daredevil, Guggman Haus
  • Central: St Joseph, Metazoa, Ash & Elm Cider
  • Southeast: Garfield Brewery, Kismetic Brewing

On those scheduled runs the operator budgets 40 to 45 minutes at each brewery. That figure is the useful yardstick for how many stops a four-hour charter can carry once driving time is counted in.

Whether a taproom can take fourteen people at once is a separate question, and the breweries answer it on their own sites. Daredevil's Speedway taproom will "do reservations for large groups or company outings 24+ hours in advance." Sun King publishes the opposite: its locations do not take formal reservations, and crews of ten or more are asked to email its tour desk and set the visit up first. One phone call the day before decides which of those two kinds of stop you are planning.

Ages matter at the door as well. Daredevil keeps its indoor seating 21+ and its covered patio open to all ages, while Sun King runs its downtown campus as all-ages.

What You Can Bring Aboard

Alcohol is allowed on the bus. Hard liquor is the exception on brewery, winery, and distillery runs, and the operator restricts it outright. The reason it gives is plain. The breweries let the bus stop by on the understanding that the group buys their drinks.

The rule runs the other way at the kerb too. The operator states that you cannot drink any alcohol once you get off the bus at one of its stops. It does not supply drink either, which it puts down to Indiana law, though on a private rental it will stop at a store on the way.

Snacks are welcome, and the operator notes that many of the stops do not serve food. A cooler can come along when there is room for it.

The booking includes bottled water and an air-conditioned vehicle. Seating runs limo-style around the perimeter, in the operator's own words.

Timing, Tipping, and the Cancellation Gap

Departures run all seven days, and the listing fixes no start time. Bookings run from four hours to twelve.

Gratuity sits outside the price. The operator asks for it in its own voice: a driver who served you well would appreciate a tip.

The two cancellation windows do not line up. A full refund on this booking closes 24 hours before departure, while the operator asks for 72 hours' notice on a cancellation or a reschedule. Plan around the operator's 72-hour notice rule; 24 hours before departure is the latest cutoff for a full Viator refund. Bad weather is grounds for cancellation on the operator's side.

Everyone aboard counts toward the fourteen. Infants ride on an adult's lap, a pram or stroller can come along, and service animals are welcome. Asked about anything larger, the operator says it has not taken on the licensing for a bigger bus.

📍 Pickup is arranged with the operator and can be any address in the Indianapolis area. The listing gives Monument Cir, Indianapolis, IN 46204 as the start point.

Four hours is only the floor. The bus stays yours past that, one hour at a time, for as long as the night keeps going.
