🎻 Premiere Night on October 22

🤖 An Orchestra With Live AI

Tod Machover of the MIT Media Lab premieres already and not yet with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Kent Nagano conducts the run from Thursday, October 22, through October 25. The live AI, designed by Media Lab researcher Manaswi Mishra, responds to each musician in real time, part of a program on technology and how it changes music.

🗓️ Picking a Performance

Opening night starts at 7:30 PM on Thursday, October 22, with a 1:30 PM matinee on Friday, October 23, and an 8:00 PM performance on Saturday, October 24. For anyone new to orchestral concerts, the Friday matinee is the easiest entry point into the run.

🏛️ Inside Symphony Hall

Symphony Hall opened in 1900 on Massachusetts Avenue, designed by McKim, Mead and White around precise acoustic engineering that still shapes how the room sounds. The premiere also marks the MIT Media Lab's 40th anniversary. Arrive early enough to settle in before the lights drop.
