Bossa Nova Civic Club

Behind the dim lighting on Myrtle Avenue, the room features gothic-style music and back-to-back DJ sets played over an excellent sound system. A heavy haze from the smoke machine fills the room, where patrons mingle on the dance floor, at the bar, and in lines. Drinks center on cocktails and the spiked Yerba Mate White Label, a spiked soda take on Berlin's popular Club-Mate. The staff and bartenders are notably welcoming, and security remains tight but low-key.
