Description

As one of the Ryukyu Hassha—the historic eight shrines of the kingdom—this Naha site hosts traditional ceremonies throughout the year, including the annual Nanmin Sai festival. Its spacious grounds sit immediately above Naminoue Beach, allowing visitors to pair prayer with a short walk down to the shore. While the sea is not directly visible from inside the shrine grounds, the sound of the ocean creates a distinct coastal backdrop that sets it apart from typical mainland shrines.
