Birria for Breakfast and a Seafood Taco Lunch in Tijuana

A guided taco day in Tijuana that starts with a walk across the border at San Ysidro and ends in the line back.

Border Tours builds this day around three taco meals on the Mexican side of the border: a birria taco for breakfast, a seafood taco for lunch, then carne asada and adobada to close. A local guide leads it in English or Spanish, and the listing's itinerary gives five of the six hours to the streets around Avenida Revolución.

The name says Tuesday, yet as of October 16, 2026 the booking calendar offered the 10:30 AM start on every day of the week. Travelers have written it up on a Monday, a Thursday and a Saturday.

The booking covers the guide, the tacos with drinks along the way, and what the listing calls round transportation. As of October 16, 2026, adults, teens and seniors were priced at USD 83, children aged 4 to 10 at USD 67, and children 3 and under go free on a lap. The guide's tip and anything you buy along the way are extra.

A Host for the Walk Over, a Line for the Walk Back

The listing names the meeting point only as the San Ysidro border crossing. Travelers who went in 2024 and 2025 describe the rest: a Border Tours host waits outside the McDonald's at the end of the trolley line on East San Ysidro Boulevard, walks the group to the pedestrian entrance, and a Tijuana guide meets everyone just past the Mexican exit. Instructions usually arrive by WhatsApp the day before, and at least two travelers who had only the address lost time finding the group.

The walk back into the United States is yours to make: guides take the group to the line, and reported waits run from under ten minutes to about three hours on a weekend. Several travelers with Global Entry cards were through far faster.

Birria Early, Seafood at Midday, Adobada to Finish

The three meals come from the listing, which also includes a craft beer tasting. Travelers fill in the stops between: aguas frescas such as jamaica and cucumber, a market walk, and in many accounts since 2024 a tequila tasting the listing never names. The order moves with the guide, and one 2026 group finished on a fish taco.

Treat anything past the listed tasting as your own tab: one November 2025 group paid separately for its craft beer and churros. Tacos beyond the included ones are yours to order.

Plan on Miles of City Streets

The listing rates this suitable for all fitness levels and stroller accessible, then marks it not wheelchair accessible and not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with heart or back problems.

Travelers put it at four to five miles on foot in one 2025 account, mostly flat with a few sets of stairs in another. Short rides fill some gaps, from a downtown bus to an Uber or a taxi, and stops that come up in accounts include the arch over Avenida Revolución, the cathedral and Hotel Caesar. Comfortable shoes matter more than an empty stomach. Bring both.

A Passport to Leave, the Right Papers to Return

Every traveler needs a current, valid passport on the day, the listing says, and its own note adds that the passport makes the way back into the US easier.

Visitors from Visa Waiver countries need an approved ESTA to re-enter by land, US Customs and Border Protection says, the same as at an airport. The agency adds that Visa Waiver travelers coming back within their original 90-day admission skip the USD 6 land-border I-94 fee. Anyone who entered the US on a visa or another status should check that it covers a land re-entry before booking.

Booking closes four hours before the 10:30 AM start and confirms on the spot. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund; inside 24 hours nothing comes back, and bad weather brings the choice of another date or a full refund. The listing caps a departure at 12 travelers, and some groups have been as small as two or three.

Drivers in 2025 reported USD 8 to 14 for a day lot just north of the crossing, cash only in one account, and the San Diego Trolley's last stop is a short walk from the border. Come back across with room in your bag for market finds and room for one more taco.
