Bay of Pigs Monument
4.5 (219)attraction
An eternal flame in Little Havana anchors a sobering parkway memorial to the exiles of Brigade 2506.
Description

Set along Cuban Memorial Boulevard, the four-block parkway brings together several distinct markers of Cuban history. Beyond the central tribute to those who fought in the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, the site features statues of 19th-century independence leader General Antonio Maceo and anti-communist fighter Nestor Izquierdo. Just behind stands a 100-year-old sacred ceiba tree, where people frequently leave items for cultural or personal reasons. It makes for a short, straightforward visit that rewards having a little historical context in mind, and fits easily into a broader walk along Calle Ocho.
