Bait First, Then Fishing Tampa Bay's Creeks and Sandbars

A private inshore fishing charter on Tampa Bay that starts with a bait run and can end with your catch filleted.

This is a four-hour private charter on Tampa Bay with Chasing Tails Charters. The boat goes out with your group only, up to four people on one booking.

The operator fishes the islands, creeks, and sandbars inside the bay, which is Florida's largest open-water estuary at nearly 400 square miles. Morning, afternoon, and evening trips all run, and the listing has the captain talk through which window should be most productive, and how it fits your schedule, before a time is set.

The listing prices the whole boat. As of October 14, 2026, that was 700 dollars for one to four people, and bookings confirm instantly.

What the Captain Is Fishing For

The day opens at the dock, where the first job is catching bait for the trip. Once the bait is in, a short boat ride takes you to the first fishing spot, and the rest of the four hours goes to fishing.

The operator names the inshore targets as snook, trout, redfish, mackerel, jacks, snapper, sharks, and tarpon. Any legal fish you want to keep for dinner gets filleted and packed into freezer bags at the end of the trip.

Kids and First-Timers on Board

Several reviews come from families, from grandparents out with their grandsons to parents with young children. One reviewer wrote that their dad caught his first fish ever, a trout, and another called the trip great for all skill levels.

The listing rates the trip suitable for all physical fitness levels. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers.

Who Is at the Helm

The listing introduces the captain as Jason Dozier, a Florida native who grew up fishing and navigating the state's back country and coastal waterways, and who holds a U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton master captain license.

The reviews show other captains too. Both reviews posted in 2026 name a Captain Garrett, and one of them reports that "Everyone caught something." Two from April 2023 name a Captain Buck. The captain on your trip may be someone other than Jason.

The listing has 57 reviews, all five stars. Most of them, 52, date from 2019 to 2021.
