At 186 Avenue B, The York runs on a casual system where you order at the bar and grab a seat wherever one opens up. The kitchen gives the smash burger a vegetarian friendly turn and backs it with a Caesar salad and breakfast sandwiches, and to go orders are available for a walk home through the East Village.
The small room works as a relaxed date night spot with zero pretension, built on affordable food and reasonably priced drinks. Happy hour takes two dollars off beers and three dollars off well drinks, and the Happy Hour Combo runs thirteen dollars for a Smashburger, fries, and beer, with Tecate or Coors in the glass.
Weekdays open at 2 PM and weekends at noon, and every night runs until 2 AM, which leaves plenty of room for a late burger and one more round on Avenue B.
