At Cocoa Beach, the Coach Pushes You Into the Wave

Stretches, a land drill, then the rest of the hour in the water with an instructor putting you onto waves.

Catch your first wave with a Cocoa Beach coach.

The hour has three parts and only one of them happens in the water. It opens with surf-specific stretches, moves to a land tutorial covering water safety and technique, and gives whatever time is left to the ocean.

Once you are in, the instructor pushes you into waves until the basics stick, which leaves a first-timer with one job instead of two.

Departures run daily at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. One booking covers up to nine travelers, and the slot is not shared.

Stretches, a Land Drill, Then the Water

The sequence is fixed: surf-specific stretches first, then the land tutorial, then the ocean. The operator describes the land portion as covering everything from water safety to technique, and it happens on the sand with the boards laid out.

Rehearsing on sand costs nothing in a lesson this short. Every minute spent sorting out foot placement on dry ground is a minute you are not spending on it with a wave already under you.

Who the Hour Is Built For

Bookings take travelers from age 5 up to 85. The operator rates the physical demand as suitable for all fitness levels and does not recommend the lesson for pregnant travelers.

Guides work in English and Spanish. Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller, and service animals are allowed.

Finding the Meeting Point

The lesson meets at the beach parking lot at the end of Palm Lane, which the operator places near the Ron Jon Surf Shop area. You call or text Franky once you have parked rather than looking for a counter to check in at. Everyone starts from that same spot, and the operator does not collect travelers from anywhere else.

Parking at the public beach access is not part of what you book. The operator lists it as a cost you settle on arrival.

Weather, Refunds, and the Booking Window

Cancelling at least 24 hours before the start time returns the full amount, and nothing comes back inside that window. The operator also cancels for poor weather, which makes a washed-out morning the operator's call rather than yours from the parking lot.

Booking closes four hours before the start time.

Boards and equipment come with the lesson. Bring swim wear, water to drink, and sunscreen. Gratuities sit outside the booking.
