Art Hive: Reciprocal Materials, Gathering and Giving

Part of the 6th Virginia McClure Ceramic Biennale and led by the collective Everything Already Present, this session opens with a reflection on the labour of processing local ceramic materials. Participants craft seed balls using soil, milkweed fibres, and native flower seeds provided by Lufa Farms, who also offer produce samples on site. The workshop adapts an ancient technique used to re-naturalize damaged areas, serving as a practice in giving back to the landscapes where raw materials are gathered.
