Description

Designed by Richard Dattner in 1973, the playground was built to evoke an ancient city. The architect, who designed several play spaces across Central Park, drew specific inspiration from the Met's Temple of Dendur. Beyond the climbing passages and sandboxes, the layout incorporates a sundial, swings, and water features.
