Alpha Phi's Red Dress Gala, Plus Climbing for Five Dollars

The run and the gala are both on the Stevens campus; the Friday climb is the only one that leaves Hoboken.

The Thursday run and the Saturday gala

The Running Club gathers in the Babbio 1st Floor Atrium at 12:50 on Thursday and heads out along the waterfront, back within the hour. Pace groups split at the start, so you pick your own distance. Alpha Phi's Saturday benefit for women's heart health runs three hours at Tech Flex, with guest speakers, raffles and dinner. Both take a free RSVP on DuckLink. The Gala raises its money through the raffles, and it does not publish what those cost.

Both climbing sessions leave campus

The Climbing and Mountaineering Club runs Wednesday at The Gravity Vault in Hoboken and Friday at Method in Newark. CAM asks $5 toward the day pass and says it covers the rest, gear included. The two gyms list their own adult day passes at $30 and $23. Friday's group walks over together from outside Jonas. The Wednesday climb was already sold out on September 18, which leaves Friday. You can leave either gym whenever you like.

Before you RSVP

CAM's club page adds a step before the RSVP. It asks you to request Organization Member status on DuckLink before you can sign up for a trip, and describes the spots as available to students, first-come. The run and the gala listings say nothing about who may attend, so ask the organizer before you go. On both climbs every person RSVPs for themselves, and bringing a guest does not cover them.

  • Climbing at Gravity Vault: $5 day pass through the Nelnet portal. Sold out as of September 18. Email Ian Nevins to cancel.
  • Climbing at Method: same $5 day pass, still open on September 18. Meet outside Jonas.
  • Thursday Weekly Group Run: free RSVP on DuckLink, with no cap on places.
  • Red Dress Gala: free RSVP on DuckLink, and the raffle prices are not listed.

That leaves Friday's climb and Saturday's gala as the two still taking RSVPs, and both finish early enough to carry on somewhere after.
