park
Vehicle permits required year-round unless visiting on a designated Free Park Day.
Prairie and wooded bluffs above the St. Croix River, forty minutes east of the Twin Cities, with a flat river-grade trail and overlooks three hundred feet above the water.
Description

The park was established in 1969 along bluffs overlooking the St. Croix, where forested ravines drop three hundred feet to the river. The North River Trail leaves the visitor center on a flat, crushed gravel grade beside the river, passes two railroad bridges, then climbs to overlooks above the valley. Winter crews pack separate ski trails for skiing only and recommend ice cleats on hiking tracks.
