Adirondack Railroad

Operated by the Adirondack Railway Preservation Society, trips depart from Utica Union, Thendara, and Tupper Lake stations to link Central New York with the High Peaks region. Outings range from foliage excursions and railbikes to themed runs like the Polar Express.

Riders can choose between first-class seating or open-air cars, using provided brochures to track historical landmarks. While some routes head through dense woodland rather than open water views, energetic staff guide the journey, even when special events encounter late starts or muffled audio.
