An Accessible Bronx Playground Built For Preschoolers
Interactive activity boards and accessible equipment on Washington Avenue give the littlest kids their own space.
🧸 Made For Little Hands
Bathgate Playground puts the youngest kids first. This accessible Bronx playground pairs accessible play equipment with interactive activity boards designed for pre-K children, which gives families with toddlers and preschoolers a space scaled to their needs, including wheelchair users.
The name carries local history. The Bathgate family is also the namesake of nearby Bathgate Avenue, and the park serves as a hub for the wider community and for students from neighboring P.S. 23, The New Children's School. Expect a neighborhood crowd of parents, caregivers, and school groups sharing the space through the day.
The playground sits at 2130 Washington Avenue in the Bronx and opens from 7 AM to 6 PM every day. Mornings suit the youngest players, and late afternoons work for a short after school stop. Bring snacks and water, start at the activity boards, and let the kids lead the way from there.
