A Sheriff or Saloon Madame Leads This Stockyards Ghost Walk
A guide in character leads five Stockyards stops and a pass-by of the rodeo arena, and the stories carry the night more than the barrooms do.
Exchange Avenue runs on brick between two rows of old storefronts, and the bars along it draw a heavy crowd on weekend nights. Nightly Spirits walks a group through it at 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, led by a guide working in costume as a Sheriff or a Saloon Madame.
The costume does real work here: it keeps a walking group fixed on one person across five stops, two of them at bars and three told from the sidewalk outside. The format is a ghost tour and a pub crawl at once, and it runs 150 minutes end to end.

Departures are Friday and Saturday only, at 7:30 PM. Every guest has to be 21 or older and carry valid photo identification. Tickets start at 38.72 USD, and drinks are not included at any stop.

A Sheriff's coat or a Madame's dress stays visible across a packed barroom, which is the practical reason the costume exists at all. A single booking covers up to six travelers, and the walk is shared with other bookings.
The telling leans theatrical rather than archival. The route's stories cover wild-west shootouts, a former brothel, and hotel guests the guide says never checked out. Guides work for tips on top of the ticket price, and the operator notes that most of them welcome one.
Three of the Stops Are Told From the Sidewalk

The walk opens at Second Rodeo Brewing with about twenty-five minutes on a creekside patio while the guide lays out how the Stockyards came to be. It closes with roughly twenty-five minutes inside The Basement Bar on West Exchange Avenue.
Everything between those two bookends is delivered standing outside the building. The White Elephant Saloon gets about ten minutes, a former brothel about ten, and a hotel the guide ties to Bonnie and Clyde about fifteen. The group passes the Stockyards Championship Rodeo without stopping.
The Route Is Not Guaranteed
Nightly Spirits states plainly that large crowds and short-staffed bars can affect the drink stops, and that no specific route is promised on any given night. To-go drinks are permitted inside the Stockyards, which is the operator's stated fallback when a bar runs too deep to serve the group.
Drinks sit outside the ticket price at every stop, and the company is not permitted to arrange specials beyond whatever the bar already runs. Departures go out in rain as well, and the company contacts ticket holders directly when weather cancels a walk.
Who Gets Turned Away
Every guest must be 21 or older and carry valid photo identification. The operator also reserves the right to refuse service to guests who are overly intoxicated or disruptive.
Covering the full 150 minutes on foot asks for at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Service animals are allowed, public transportation options are available nearby, and the route stays inside the Stockyards district the whole way.
Cancelling at least 24 hours ahead of departure returns the full ticket price. Inside that window there is no refund. Departures can also be called off at the operator's discretion for weather, events, illness, or low attendance, and rescheduling takes at least two hours of notice.
📍 Meet at Second Rodeo Brewing, 122 East Exchange Avenue, Suite 340, on Mule Alley — the lane beside the Shake Shack. Arrive about ten minutes early for check-in, and note the operator waits five minutes past departure. The walk ends at The Basement Bar, 105 West Exchange Avenue.
The listing gives two places where the guide waits at check-in: outside in front of the decorated grain silo, across from the horse statues, or just inside the Mule Alley entrance by the merchandise counter. Check your booking confirmation for the latest instruction.
