Seattle Lakeside Park With Industrial Relics and Skyline Views

Spread a picnic on the green slopes, watch boats and landing airplanes on Lake Union, and stay for sunset.

Bring a blanket for sunset.

🏭 Industry Meets Green Space

Gas Works Park gives Seattle a waterfront outing with an industrial edge. Preserved structures rise over green slopes, putting heavy industrial remains right beside space for a picnic. Spread out a blanket and take in that collision of industry and open ground. A playground adds another way to spend time here, with room in the afternoon for both a snack break and a little play.

Down by Lake Union, boats and landing airplanes give you something to watch across the water. Turn toward the Seattle skyline for the broader sweep, then linger as sunset sharpens the view. Take your time along the shoreline and let the city across the lake supply the backdrop.

Find the park at 2101 N Northlake Way. It stays open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, leaving a wide window for an early start or an evening outdoors.
