A Nu Metal Halloween Party on DeKalb, After Birria at Frida's
Dress as a horror icon for nu metal, drag and tarot at Secret Pour, after birria tacos with consommé at Frida's on Myrtle.
🪰 Saturday on DeKalb
🤘 Heavy Music and Horror
HOUSE OF FLIES is a Halloween party from Nü Girl Order, a woman focused collective built around heavy music and alt style. It takes over Secret Pour at 1114 DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 17, starting at 8:00 PM. The organizers list DJ Nü Dez on a playlist of nu metal, metalcore and 2000s horror soundtracks, and host Corma Kelley promises a surprise drag show or two. Everyone is welcome, with a request to respect the space and the people in it.

🔮 Tarot, Henna and Vendors
Entry is free, and the official event poster marks the party as 21 and over. The dress code leans on horror icons, with Jennifer Check and Nancy Downs among the suggested looks. Inside, alt vendors sell accessories, tarot readers work the room live, and henna artists offer custom designs. Vendors take Cash App, Venmo, PayPal and cash, while drag tips are cash only. Secret Pour itself is a Bushwick bar with pool tables, touch screen games and a jukebox, plus an event space behind a hidden door.

🌮 Birria Before the Party
Eat first at Frida's Bushwick at 1264 Myrtle Avenue, under 10 minutes on foot from Secret Pour. The menu lists Birria Tacos with Consommé for dipping alongside burritos packed with rice, beans and pico de gallo. On Saturday the kitchen serves from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, leaving room for an early dinner before the 8:00 PM start. Broadway Pizza sits a block from the bar at 1142 Broadway for a quick slice on the way in.
