A Neon Carnival Midway Lights Up Tamiami Each Spring

Carnival rides, midway games, and fair food take over the Tamiami fairgrounds every spring.

Plan a midway night at the Miami-Dade Fair.

🎡 On the midway

The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition takes over the Tamiami fairgrounds on Coral Way each spring, one of the largest annual fairs in the country. Its midway fills with carnival rides, from a towering wave swinger to a rainbow-striped giant slide, and the whole grounds glow with neon and string lights after sunset. Games, funnel cakes, and corn dogs line the walkways between the ride gates.

Beyond the rides, the fair runs livestock barns, student art and science exhibits, and a concert stage that books touring acts through the run. Families move between agricultural halls, a petting zoo, and the food stalls into the night. The grounds sit off SW 24th Street in the Tamiami district of west Miami-Dade, with parking on site and a schedule that lands in March most years.
